A Concept Analysis on the "Mother-Infant Attachment"



Abstract
This study is to analyze the concept of mother-infant attachment.
Concept analysis is a formal linguistic exercise to determine certain concepts defining attributes. The basic purpose of concept analysis is to clarify ambiguous concepts included in a theory, and eventually to propose a precise empirical
referents
which reflects its theoretical base.
Our main purpose is to made the basic data for nursing intervention to improve mother-infant relationship.
According to the concept analysis method by Walker & Avant, the characteristics of concept on the "mother-infant attachment" was analyzed from literatures.

@EN Attributes of mother-infant attachment are defined as 1. It is continuous and affactionate interation. 2. It is satisfied through positive feedback. 3. It is formed by defensive mechanism of certain threat or responsive person. 4. It is
developed by
physical, verbal, and visual contacts.
@ES Therefore, the concept can be defined as follows:
@EN Because mother-infant attachment is mutually continuous intimate tie, it is formed through positive response of affectionate stimuli.
Above results can elucidate the concept of "mother-infant attachment" and will be a basis for the promotion of mother-infant relationship.
